As the name suggests, these strands are truly absolute uniques. You can learn below why these strands are not only unique for this reason and why they are not reproducible. In any case, we have decided to honor the uniqueness by giving each individual strand a unique background. There is much to discover.

Why these colors are unique.

When Franziska Uhl realized that no matter how much care she took, she always had some color left over after dyeing, she decided not to simply discard it, but to make something very special out of it. Not least in the spirit of sustainability, she began to use the remaining colors to create wonderful creations. Each of these strands was individually "painted" in water with various colors in a very elaborate (partly taking several hours) process. As in her painting, when she paints with oil colors, she lays a foundation for her artwork with the “remaining” colors and then shapes the rest as her artistic intuition guides her.

And so these unique results are created.

A little more (about) sustainability...

As already mentioned, one of the main motivations was not to waste the dyes. However, from this motivation, much more has developed in terms of sustainability: the (time-)consuming process allows the strands to be dyed with less and above all with cold water. Later, they are briefly heated to fix the color, making them completely leak-proof.

This leads to savings in color, water, and energy during production. It is a double win, so to speak.

What can I make from these strands?

Very simple: You can process them just like any other fingering or sock yarn. You can use them as a highlight for your projects or individually. Of course, you can also combine them with each other. Your creativity knows no bounds here. The uniqueness comes from the dyeing and the process that brings them into being. And not least, of course, from Franziska Uhl's artistic skill.
