Fyberspates began in 2005 with a dream and a problem: Jeni was searching in the UK for the dreamy hand-dyed yarns she admired online from the USA, but found none. So she started dyeing herself – in her own garden, out of pure passion for textiles that had accompanied her since childhood. As demand grew and the garden became too small, Scrumptious, her first commercial yarn, was born. But her heart remained with the hand-dyed roots, and so she flew to South America – without speaking Spanish – to teach dyers her recipes using sign language. The result: the wonderful Vivacious and Gleam series.

Today, Fyberspates is more than just a yarn manufacturer – they are ambassadors for independent designers and small businesses that create the extraordinary. From the fluffy Cumulus yarns to collaborations with favorite designers like Rachel Coopey and Carol Feller: Jeni brings indie spirit into commercial realms and proves that diversity and inclusion are not just values, but lived practices.
