Über Life in the Long Grass
Life in the Long Grass was born out of a love for a forgotten place. A decaying 19th century farmhouse in the wild heather hills of Mushermore Mountain, Ireland - here they created their studio for hand-dyed yarns, surrounded by peat bogs and the rugged beauty of the Irish countryside. What began as a restoration became a philosophy: slow living, sustainable work, uncompromising craftsmanship in the midst of nature that inspires anew every day.
Her yarns come from ethical, mulesing-free farms in Ireland, England, Uruguay, Peru, Argentina, France and Portugal. In their light-filled studio - deliberately designed to be airy for their team, studio cat and two dogs - they use non-toxic dyes and recycle the water with the same care they use to hand-dye each skein. Their double-fixing process prevents color bleed, but what really sets Life in the Long Grass apart is their dedication to the process itself: They savor the decelerated, stress-free art of creation. Here, yarn is created with the soul of the Irish hills - each skein imbued with the tranquillity of a place where time ticks differently.
